Our recommendations for your Private Tours in Paris during Fall 2025 and Winter 2025-2026
- Begin your exploration of Paris with a 3-hour tour of the Ile de la Cité.
- Private tours of Notre-Dame Cathedral are now available!
- For now, Louvre Private Tours are more beneficial (the museum is experimenting with a dedicated entry for small groups with their licensed guide; we do not know how long it will last). The best choice for visiting the Louvre remains an evening tour.
- A Meers Waffle degustation after a Marais tour.
- A visit to Debauve & Gallais, the Chocolate purveyores of Marie-Antoinette, or the Bon Marché Rive Gauche department store after a Saint-Germain-des-Prés tour.
In winter, avoid long outdoor tours; instead, opt for a tour of the Louvre and Notre-Dame Cathedral first.

Q: When is the Best Time of the Year to Visit Paris?
A: This is a difficult question. Summers in Paris are crowded, and the temperature may be high. We believe spring (especially April and May) and autumn (particularly September and October) are the best periods to visit Paris. May is very popular because of its extended daylight (the summer solstice is on June 21st). Winter is reserved for Museum fans.
Q: Is Paris a Walkable City?
A: Paris is an ancient city; even if a big part of it was redesigned in the second half of the 19th century (the Haussmannian Paris), it was decades before cars. Paris was designed for walking. Nevertheless, in the 1970s, an urban highway was created alongside the Seine River to cross the city from west to east: the “Voie Express Georges Pompidou,” but it was transformed in the last years into “Parc Rives de Seine,” a place to stroll around on the banks of the River Seine. Forget about driving and see the next question.
Q: How to Get Around Paris as a Tourist?
A: Forget about driving. Paris boasts one of the world’s best public transportation networks. The best way to discover Paris is to take intensive walks through its famous districts (arrondissements) and travel from one place to another using the Famous Parisian “Métro.” The regional commuter train network “RER” is the best way to go to Versailles Castle.
Q: What are the Best Neighborhoods to Visit in Paris?
Paris is divided into twenty arrondissements, which are referred to as neighborhoods. The best and most famous ones are:
- 1st with La Sainte Chapelle, la Conciergerie, Le Louvre, Jardin des Tuileries, Jardin du Palais-Royal.
- 3rd and 4th with Le Marais, Place des Vosges, Ile Saint-Louis, Notre Dame.
- 6th with Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
- 7th with Musée d’Orsay, Musée Rodin, Eiffel Tower.
- 8th with the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe.
- 18th with Montmartre, Moulin Rouge.
PARIS PRIVATE TOURS REVIEWS
An Exceptional Experience in Paris
In preparation for my trip to France, I researched official options with credentialed experts for a tour of Paris. I found Yves’ website and was impressed by the various options for touring Paris and other areas of France. I decided to book the full day tour of Paris (including the Louvre) for first timers, for myself and my mother.
My mother and I were incredibly impressed by Yves’ mastery of Parisian history and his ability to customize the tour based on our interests and enthusiasm. As an art and cultural enthusiast, I was impressed with the Louvre tour since we focused on sculpture (one of my favorites) and viewed breathtakingly beautiful works of Renaissance art. Our tour was comprehensive and we covered an incredible amount of ground – it was a visual and intellectual feast! Our tour truly took our trip to Paris to the next level – it was the highlight of our trip! We are looking forward to seeing Yves again when we visit France in the future.
Thank you Yves for your dedication, enthusiasm, humour, and kindness. Wishing you continued
Great Experience!
Our group had an absolute blast – it’s not every day you find yourself laughing and learning at the same time. Yves has this fantastic ability to make history feel like a lively chat among friends. I left the tour not just with a head full of facts but also with the feeling that I had just spent a day out with a group of old pals. For anyone even slightly intrigued by Napoleon, or just looking for a fun, informative day out, I can’t recommend Yves’ tour enough. It’s history, but with a hearty dose of humor and charm!
The highlight of our trip!!
“This was the best investment and hands down the highlight of our trip!! We booked a tour of the Louvre with Yves. The Louvre is huge and there is so much to see. In two hours, Yves managed to show us an incredible amount. He is deeply knowledgeable about art history, and it was amazingly helpful to have him contextualize what we were seeing for us. We are already planning to book with him again the next time we are in Paris. Don’t hesitate—this is an experience that is worth every penny!!”
Paris Historical Tour
Fascinating, educational and fun tour in Paris. Private guide who was passionate and knowledgeable and tailored the tour specifically for me.
A Great Tour!
A great tour, private – so not a crowd. Very detailed historic information and fascinating anecdotes about the St. Germain neighborhood of Paris.
Yves is a wonderful guide!
I booked a tour with Broaden Horizons and had Yves as my guide. Since nobody else booked a tour that day, I was lucky to have Yves to myself. He was not only very well informed and interesting, he went out of his way to give me as much information as possible based on my personal curiosity. In other words, an almost tailor made tour! Chapeau to Broaden Horizons for having such a wonderful guide
Great Tour!
Yves was a great guide, passionate, knowledgeable and thoughtful. We both really enjoyed our tour with him.
